Feliciano off to Japan
 

FUKUOKA — The Softbank Hawks are close to acquiring left-hander Pedro Feliciano, who played for the New York Mets in the 2004 season, club representative Masashi Tsunoda said Thursday.

"We're in the final phase of negotiations. We'll let you know soon after the signing takes place," Tsunoda said. Feliciano went 1-1 with a 5.40 ERA in 22 games, all in relief, for the Mets last year. (Kyodo News)



Never even heard of the Softbank Hawks although to be honest I can hardly lay claim to any knowledge of Japanese baseball. Best name *ever* has to Nippon Ham Fighters. Come on, you know it, I know it.
