Jorge Julio
This may be one of the more unexpected stats of the season. Jorge Julio, who has really struggled until recently has pitched 9.2 innings so far. He has struck out 17 guys in 9.2 innings. That's a 16.63 k/ip ratio.
I'm never going to be sporting a Jorge Julio jersey, but maybe there is some hope for the guy yet.. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/6709 |

In his last 5 games, he has an ERA of 0.00 having pitched 6 innings, surrendered no runs on 2 hits, 2 walks, and registered 11 strikeouts in those six innings. He had no wins, no losses, no saves.
In his first 4 games, he had an ERA of 19.64 having pitched 3.2 innings, surrendered 11 runs (8 earned) on 11 hits, 4 walks, and registered 6 strikeouts in those 3.2 innings. He had one loss, no wins, no saves. I think we should give the new Julio the benefit of the doubt for the time being. I hope Mets fans have been paying attention so he doesn't get murdered when he gets back to shea. |

The sad thing is I bet most Met fans will have first-impression syndrome, where he can post an era of 3 for the entire year and he'll get boo'ed. He was boo'ed during the Opening Day ceremonies!
